My paintings reference the history and uniqueness of countries I have explored: Central Asia, Germany, the Black Sea, Scandinavia and, most recently, Romania. Using paint, silkscreen and collage, I layer photographic images with texts, letters, maps and other found documents to intuitively fuse historical references with contemporary conditions into a viable, resonant image.
